Chile's official currency is the Chilean Peso ($). The monetary system consists of a series of coins and bills. The coins are manufactured in Winnipeg, in the Royal Canadian Mint!!!!!!. The Mint has made over 55 billion coins for more than 75 countries, between they the coins of Chile. I had no idea !!!!.

The chilean bills are issued in denominations of 1,000, 2,000, 5,000 and 20,000 pesos. Coins are issued in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 pesos. Below the pictures:

In my country the people usually buy things with a credit cards. The cash usually are use in neighborthood stores. The things are similar prices that in Canada. Bellow a comparison chart:

Post # 2 - City Life vs. Country Life

I think that the city life is better than country life because it offers many things easy to obtain such as basic services, variety of education, entertainment places and diversity of commerce centers. If you have a emergency or forgot buy something, you can obtain attention heath quickly and buy whatever. On the other hand, in the city life you can found a lot of traffic, noisy in the downtown, garbage and in some cases violence. In spite of this, I think the city life is better than country life.

Hello, my name is Bernarda Perez but my family and friends say me “Cote” it’s my nickname. I'm from Santiago of Chile, I'm 34 years old and I have a beutiful family. I'm married 9 months ago and we haven't children for the moment. About my studies, I'm Environmental Engineer and Industrial Engineer. I completed my Master of Energy Economics the past year. Now I hope learn English very well!. My major hobbies are travel, view movies and practice sports. I like all of kind the outdoor activities mainly the hiking, mountaineering, ski and I also love skating. Now for the winter season, I’m practicing ice speed skating. It’s very fun and exciting!!!!! Post # 1 - My husband's job

Andres, is my husband, he comes with me to Calgary while I'm studying in the ESL program. He's a metallurgical engineer but his occupation in the past 5 years have been the avalanches control. He isn't working now but he expected work in the Rocky Mountain, Canada. He's is a passionate backcountry skier and ski mountaineer and he loves this work because he can stay in the mountain all the time. The mountains is his passion, he loves the risk and work outside and the most important for him is involve in avalanche science, rescue and control programs to help the people.
